It's really quite amazing what comes out in the heat of a moment or the simple passing of conversation to make laughter or joy out of a tricky situation....
This particular phrase came about when we were holidaying with friends in Centre Parcs. The youngest member of our group seemed to be spending a rather long time in the bathroom (in his defence, his sister was desperate to use the facility that he had managed to have the forethought to use before her!). The usual moan of "come on, hurry up etc." came about and to make light of the situation I added "leave him alone, he is on a journey of self discovery".
I am sure that the mind will wander into all sorts of things but I must assure you it was harmless and completely innocent.
